Maryam Hunwick is the managing director and agent at Hunwick Hughes Ltd. Previously she worked at BBC Worldwide, managing business affairs, talent rights and publishing in their multi media division, then heading the spoken word rights department. Since 2000 she has guided the careers of a select book of multi award winning stage and screen artists in international film, TV and theatre productions. Maryam and her partner Nick Hughes have extensive knowledge of film, television, and theatre practice, arts and media business and film production, as producers with Kickabout Films – to 2013. www.kickaboutfilms.com

 

Hunwick Hughes is now an associate member of Space Club, Edinburgh. This charity, set up in March 2013, is transforming abandoned and underused premises into creative space for arts practitioners. Different disciplines - performers, artists and creatives - form a unique member-based association fostering collaboration and improving access to the arts for all, providing free (for the 16-25 age group) and affordable space to work, rehearse, exhibit and produce. Hunwick Hughes have offices in the Space Club arts hub, Argyle House, alongside SPH Casting and other established arts practitioners.

 

Previously Hunwick Hughes have sponsored the RNT Connections Youth Theatre Festivals Scottish showcases in 2007 and 2008. We  sponsored the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company’s schools programme in 2007, and established the Lyceum Youth Theatre Development Fund in 2009. The partnership between Hunwick Hughes and the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company received match funding from the Scottish Executive, and Hunwick Hughes was commended by Arts and Business, Scotland, in their annual awards, 2008.
